The Memento Bouquet

So, as I mentioned in my last post, the Memento Bouquet is finally perfected. Well its as perfect as it can get. I made the pilot from items used at my own Wedding. It's our 10 year anniversary this year so its quite apt that I have created something for it.

Cutting up my wedding dress was emotional but it was well worth it in the end. I also managed to use some of the Bridesmaid dress that Miss LD wore as she was my bridesmaid. Luckily I still had the silk flowers that I used as a bouquet and all that I had to add were some vintage buttons.

I managed to put together a little collage using Picasa, its a great tool that I have recently discovered to organise my pictures...

Now I have my studio I'm able to offer this service to everyone, its available on my website at a special offer price so pop on over and send me your wedding!

Back on track

So after a what seems like years of not properly being around Lilac Duck is back!

I have a new Studio - "The Nest", new ideas and lots of extra time now that my Uni course is on a break...

As I've been mentioning in the ShedQuarter posts I have a new place to create and store lots of new Sparklies. Its very much still a work in progress as I add decorations and storage. I plan to make as much of this as I can myself by trying out new crafts and of course I will post the results however shabby.

My first big project is the Memento Bouquet which is coming very soon, I also have a December wedding for which there is a Vintage feel and lots of gorgeousness.

I've also got a few new things that I have tried and tested whilst I have been waiting for the new place to be sorted, some of these are not my usual style but I hope you will love them as much as I have loved making them.

Antiques Roadshow

I was fortunate enough to go and have a potter round Dagfields Crafts & Antiques at the weekend. I was on the look out for some things for my new Shedquarters..

Im told that this used to live in a Railway ticket office.
Each compartment should be big enough for a couple of bead jars so I'm going to sand it down and repaint it the same colour as the Shed. I'll let you know how I get on..

This is a view of the back which is a clue to its origin
I'll put up further posts how its makeover went as soon as the rain stops and I can carry on!

I also picked up these gorgeous Vintage Dorma curtains to put up at the windows

and I went over the top on buttons by buying around 1800, these are just a few of the different colours which I had LOTS of fun sorting through!

Some of these will be going into a bouquet for a December wedding and I'm planning on designing a Summer Fruits inspired bouquet shortly..

An update on the ShedQuarters...

We are now fully waterproof, new roof, insulation and all!

This rain isnt helping our progress, although its all waterproof now the new boarding cant go in as it has to be cut outside.

I was hoping to share a few pictures of the outside too but I havent managed to get any just yet so I'll let you have a look at the fellow who is going to live there permanently.......

Please Welcome Lilac Duck! (Not sure if its a she or a he yet)

He/She will most proably show up in lots of pictures in the new HQ and also in any new product pictures Im looking to incorporate it somewhere.

I'll soon be looking for a new name for the Shedquarters so watch this space!

Handmade Monday

This is something that I created on Sunday whilst I was waiting for my new home to be finished. It is made from paper flowers, and some gorgeous mini buttons with a satin ribbon handle.

This doesnt necessarily have to be used as a bridal bouquet and I didnt have that in mind when I made it. This could be given as a present for a 1st Wedding anniversary as it is traditionally named as the paper anniversary.

A new ShedQuarters!

My husband has very kindly donated his shed as a new base for Lilac Duck HQ! This will enable me to put all of my Pretty's together in one place so it's much easier to work. Renovations have just begun but I thought I would share a few "before" pics now.
